Get you employees active

Most of us have heard reports about the health risks of our sedentary jobs. Canadian adults are sedentary for an average of 9.5 hours per day. This impacts both our health and our productivity at work. Even the 15% of adults who do get the recommended 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week may be at risk if they spend long hours sitting at their desks and commuting each week.

A Participaction campaign called "Sneak it In" is recommending people engage in short bursts of activity throughout their day. Encourage your staff to get up once per hour, take walks during breaks or lunch, shift positions regularly between standing and sitting throughout the day, hold meetings while taking a walk - find more ideas here
